Other news and notes...
  • A number of Sea Dogs alumni were in town for the draft. Former Sea Dogs and 2022 Memorial Cup champions William Villeneuve and Jeremie Poirier were on stage with team management.
  • The Sea Dogs were the first team to use a timeout, hitting the pause button before taking the stage to pick at No. 10. There seemed to be a lot going on, including Sea Dogs president Trevor Georgie on the phone and having a conversation with owner Scott McCain.
  • The Sea Dogs used a full timeout ahead of pick No. 18 and ultimately dealt the pick to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In return, the Sea Dogs received a second-round pick (38th overall) in 2025; a fourth-round pick (58th overall) in 2025; a first-round pick (Blainville-Boisbriand's) in 2026; and a third-round pick in 2027.
  • The Sea Dogs used another full timeout ahead of pick No. 29.
  • The Sea Dogs were scheduled to pick 148th overall but they traded the selection to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in exchange for picks 165 and 176.

  1. Watched the Eastlink feed and quite surprised by the small amount of time devoted to the Sea Dogs despite having the first overall and three 1st round picks. Interviewed someone from each Atlantic team except Saint John. Are we that hated or am I paranoid ?

  2. They have TV rights for Charlottetown, Halifax and Cape Breton and are a jersey sponsor of Moncton, so makes sense to get the least amount of coverage.
