Station Nation Facts:

  • Lewiston was very close to moving to Fredericton last season after having low attendance numbers. The team stayed in Lewiston and decided to do a total rebuild of the organization. Their slogan this season is “We like it here.”
  • The Maineiacs were major sellers in the offseason. They traded the likes of Peter Delmas, Marc Bourgeois, Garrett Clarke, Danick Paquette, and their first round Euro pick that Moncton used to draft Kirill Kabanov.
  • During the 2006-07 season, with the team lead by head-coach Clément Jodoin, won two consecutive championships: the first one in the regular season, then the playoff one, when they won 16 times in 17 games... almost perfect! But the Memorial Cup tournament was more difficult for the MAINEiacs, only one win in 4 games. Finally, the host team, the Vancouver Giants, won the Memorial Cup 2007.
  • The team’s notables over the years include: Richard Leduc, Michel Bergeron, Normand Rochefort, Yanic Perreault, Jocelyn Thibault, Mathieu Dandenault, Chad Denny, Jonathan Bernier and Clément Jodoin .
  • According to the QMJHL website, Drew MacIntyre wore the number “100” for 215 games when the team was in Sherbrooke.
  • This is the only time these two play each other in Lewiston this season. They play again at Harbour Station on December 6th at 4:00 pm.
  • The Androscoggin Bank Colisee is one of the stranger buildings in the league. For players to get from the bench to their dressing room, they must cross through the concourse.
  • The Maineiacs have played the Sea Dogs twice in Fredericton during the pre-season and have won both games.
