H.F. PODCAST PART TWO
PRESS RELEASE
The Saint John Sea Dogs just keep on winning, with their streak now at 22 games. While few have taken notice of this feat, we at Hockey's Future are doing what we can to shine the light on this talented hockey club. Listen to part 2 of this HF Podcast with Kevin Forbes for more insight into the current success of the Sea Dogs.

THESE DOGS ARE BARKING
The CHL newsletter had a story on the Saint John Sea Dogs' (at the time) 20 game winning streak last week. That article is now updated and on CHL.ca and can viewed by clicking HERE.

It’s worth checking out but all the quotes are from the Telegraph-Journal.

SERVING SOME GOOD EATS
The #1 team in the QMJHL recently made a special appearance at St. John the Baptist King Edward School, as the Saint John Sea Dogs visited the south-end-based educational facility as part of the 8th Annual Irving Oil Hot Holiday Breakfast.

ALLEN EXPECTED TO LEAD TO CANADA
Since Jake Allen is all but a Sea Dog now apparently, Station Nation will be reporting on him at the World Junior selection camp.

Allen, of the Montreal Juniors, is the front-runner because of his greater national and international experience, but none of the other three can be counted out.

It would be a surprise if Allen doesn't make it. The six-foot-two St. Louis Blues prospect has a history with Hockey Canada, having won gold at the 2008 world under-18 championship in Russia, where he was named tournament MVP.

He is the only one of the four who was invited to last year's world juniors camp and he was close to making that team.

"I feel a little more ready this time," said Allen, also a scratch golfer who played on the New Brunswick provincial team in 2004 and 2005. "It's a short and sweet camp.

"You don't have time to make any mistakes, so you have to be ready each time you're on the ice."

WE MISSED IT
Station Nation missed a juicy article in the Times & Transcript on Saturday about the Rivalry Cup.

“In recent years as our community of Metro Moncton has finally taken its rightful place at this province's largest, most economically powerful and fastest-growing city our citizens occasionally pause for an indulgent glance westward to our neighbours in dear old Foggy Bottom, otherwise known as the City of Saint John,” said the newspaper.

“We in Moncton are happy to encourage our long-time friendly rival with a rousing cheer of ‘Hey, Saint John: you're Number Two.’”

That cheer never happened and really makes no sense considering Moncton is ranked sixteenth in Station Nation’s CHL rankings.

“By all means bring a rolled-up newspaper (to the game); we deem the Times & Transcript an appropriate choice.”

NEW WEBSITE
Harbour Station’s website got an upgrade. Glancing through the site, it looks quite different and offers some new information on the facility. It also finally updated some of its information. Be sure to check it out.

My favourite is the building comparisons (pictured above), saying “Harbour Station is the lower bowl of any major arena.” Very clever idea.

THAT DODN’T TAKE LONG
Just like that, the Sea Dogs’ two month run as the hottest team in the QMJHL is over. Who takes over in their place? Who else other than the Moncton Wildcats.

“The Wildcats usurped the Saint John Sea Dogs as the league's new hottest team after handing Saint John its first loss in 23 games,” wrote Patrick King. “Moncton is starting to play with the promise that was expected of them now that they're icing a healthy roster. The Wildcats' winning-streak is now six games while they remain tied for second in the Atlantic Division standings.”

DON’T LOOK NOW
The Sea Dogs’ fourth place position for consecutive wins is in the CHL record book is already in jeopardy. The Barrie Colts of the OHL are riding a 19-game streak and were this week’s hot team in the OHL as listed by Rogers Sportsnet.
