ICE ISSUES AT 'THE BOB'

GATINEAU, Que. – Tonight’s President’s Cup final game was nearly postponed.

Rogers Sportsnet’s Louis Jean tweeted this a short time ago:

Game 4 of the Q final between Gatineau and Saint John was in jeopardy because refrigeration problems. The ice issue have been resolved.
The Gatineau newspaper Le Droit reported the issue first, saying that both the Saint John Sea Dogs and Gatineau Olympiques had their morning skates elsewhere.

It has been quite warm in the Gatineau/Ottawa region over the past couple of days according to some Sea Dogs fans in attendance. The ice problems combined with the heat probably won’t make for the greatest ice conditions tonight.

Wikipedia says the Robert Guertin Centre was built in 1952. A new building for the team has been talked about for a few years now.

Postponing the game would have created quite a mess with Game Five Friday in Saint John, Game Six Sunday back in Gatineau, and Game Seven at Harbour Station on Monday.
