The Canadian Press’ recap. Scott Oke had a short-handed goal and Tomas Jurco scored on the power play as Saint John (5-3-0) topped the Voltigeurs (4-4-0).

SN Live Blog Replay. Five straight wins for Saint John.

THIRD JERSEY: As you can see in the photo above takenfrom L’Express, the Voltigeurs wore black and white/grey third jerseys last night. The team is celebrating their 30th anniversary.

MISSING: Jonathan Huberdeau is still at Florida Panthers training camp. An announcement regarding his contract is expected to made some time over the next few days. If he is not signed by the Panthers he must be assigned back to Saint John.

Defenseman Tyrone Sock was also scratched for the Sea Dogs.

LETTERS: Kevin Gagne was captain once again for the Sea Dogs. According to the QMJHL game sheet, Stanislav Galiev, Pierre Durepos and Danick Gauthier each wore an ‘A’ on their sweaters.

SAAB’S DEBUT: Ian Saab made is Sea Dogs regular season debut on Friday night. He has been back from Vancouver Canucks rookie camp for some time but was sidelined with a shoulder injury. In his debut, Saab had a fight with Jonathan Oligny in the first period and recorded one shot on goal.

D.O.D.’S FIRST: Devon Oliver-Dares netted his first career QMJHL goal when Aidan Kelly set him up to complete a two-on-one. Oliver-Dares was skating in his eighth game of the season. He played in just four last year.

FOURTH STRAIGHT START: Last season it was almost unheard of for a Sea Dogs goaltender to make four straight starts in the regular season. But Mathieu Corbeil did just that last night, making his fourth consecutive start and picking up his fourth straight victory.

Corbeil has played in every game since returning from Columbus Blue Jackets training camp. He has a 2.20 goals against average and a 0.924 save percentage.

Sebastien Auger was Corbeil’s backup last night.

GOALIE SWAP: Domenic Graham allowed four goals on 12 shots and was pulled halfway through the second period. The Volts gave him the hook after it appeared Kevin Gagne had made it a 5-0 game but the goal was waived off because of a Stephen MacAulay penalty.

Graham was replaced by former Sea Dogs prospect Simon Giroux. The netminder was traded to Saint John in the winter of 2009 as part of the Chris DiDomenico deal but never played a game for the Sea Dogs.

STREAKING: Last night’s win gave Saint John their fifth straight victory which is the longest winning streak in the league so far this year.

The Voltigeurs were on a three-game winning streak entering the game.

NEXT GAME: The Dogs take on the Victoriaville Tigres today at 5pm in the final contest of their three-game road trip.
