POSTSCRIPT: Huskies 3, Sea Dogs 4

A collection of recaps from last night’s 4-3 Saint John Sea Dogs win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies…

Our recap. Saint John had their struggles offensively, but luckily their power play clicked when they needed it most.

The Telegraph-Journal’s recap. "They worked harder than we did for most of the game,'' Charles-Olivier Roussel said. "We have to work harder, it's as simple as that. It's going to cost us games if we continue like that.''

The Canadian Press’ recap. Zack Phillips had two goals and Gauthier scored his league-leading 23rd goal and added two assists for the Sea Dogs (20-6-0), who have won six straight games overall and nine of their last 10.

SaintJohnSeaDogs.com’s recap. The announced crowd of 4,227 fans cheered Saint John to their 12th straight home win, which was tougher than the standings might have predicted.

MISSING IN ACTION: The Sea Dogs were without Jonathan Huberdeau, Stanislav Galiev, and Ryan Tesink once again due to injuries. Tyrone Sock and Devon Oliver-Dares are currently not with the team.

WIN STREAK: With the victory, Saint John extended their win streak to six games. They also extended their home winning streak to 12 games with their only loss coming in the season opener against the Moncton Wildcats.

AT HOME: Saint John improved to 12-1-0-0 at home this season, outscoring the opposition 72-31. They have a winning percentage of 0.923. No other team in the league has a winning percentage higher than 0.833 at home.

STREAKING: Zack Phillips extended his point streak to 14 games. It is the longest active streak in the league and also ties him with Bathurst’s Zach O’Brien for the longest streak this season. Over the 14-game span, Philips has recorded 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points.

SHOTS: Rouyn-Noranda won the shots on goal battle, outshooting Saint John in the second and third periods for a 30-29 advantage overall. The Sea Dogs improved to 9-3-0-0 when being outshot.

GAUTHIER: Danick Gauthier continued his unreal play on Wednesday, scoring his 23^rd goal of the season in his 24^th game. He continues to lead the league in goals.

MORRISON: Brock Morrison was recalled from the Maritime Junior Hockey League for this one. In 14 games with the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners, he recorded three goals and four assists. In five previous games with Saint John this season he had two goals and an assist.

Morrison wore No. 32 on Wednesday, was a -1, had two shots, a hit, and went 1/4 in the faceoff circle.

DUREPOS: Pierre Durepos was absent for about half the game and was nowhere to be seen in the third period. Rumor going around Twitter is that he had the flu.

THIRD STAR: Phillips’ two-goal performance earned him third star honours in Buzzing The Net’s nightly CHL three star awards.

Phillips' night moved him into a tie for fourth in QMJHL scoring, with more points per game than the trio ahead of him.

POWER PLAY: Saint John's power play was a key part of the win as they went two-for-two on the man advantage. The Sea Dogs' power play has been pretty solid of late but is still middle-of-the-pack. They are ranked ninth in the league with a rating of 24.4%.

NEXT GAME: The Sea Dogs begin their road venture on Friday when they take on the PEI Rocket in Charlottetown. It is the first of three road games in five nights for Saint John.
