Sherbrooke’s new Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team will be called the “Phoenix.” The new franchise that will begin play next season announced their team name and unveiled their logo and jersey today.

We’re not crazy about the name but the logo and jersey
are pretty sweet.
It was announced in May that Sherbrooke would be awarded
an expansion team to begin play in 2012-13.
I like it. Its a name I can actual pronounce as an English speaker (whereas the majority of the French teams are a struggle even now) and its a great logo. Could use some petter font though. And their jerseys look a little like the Winnipeg Jets.
