Flashing Back to November

If you don’t remember much about last November, then you probably don’t remember much about the Sea Dogs playing the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Saint John faced Baie-Comeau three times during the regular season with all three of those contests taking place within a 10-day span in November. They will now battle at least four games as the two lock horns for a quarter-final playoff series which begins tomorrow night at Harbour Station.

The Sea Dogs won all three regular season meetings, outscoring the Drakkar 15-5. Two games were played at the Henry Leonard Centre in Baie-Comeau while the other was held at Harbour Station.

Zack Phillips led the way for Saint John with a goal and four assists for five points against the Drakkar. Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and three assists. Nathan Beaulieu, Kevin Gagne, and Tomas Jurco each had two goals. Sebastien Auger started two of the three games.

Tomas Filippi had a goal and two assists for three points against Saint John. Jean-Philippe Caron and Lucas Cingel each had two goals. Jimmy Appleby, who was Baie-Comeau’s backup in round one, made one start while the since departed Antonio Mastropietro made two starts.

It was a fairly uneventful season series, but some notable things did happen. Here’s a closer look at each of the three head-to-head meetings.
