Sea Dogs At AHL Camps Update

HERSHEY VS BINGHAMTON
Stanislav Galiev helped setup a goal in the Hershey Bears 4-3 shootout loss to the Binghamton Senators last night.

“HERSHEY got back in the game at 14:36 of the second period. Stanislav Galiev began the play by carrying the puck deep into the Sens’ right corner,” writes Scott Stuccio on the Washington Capitals website. “His quick shot from a sharp angle came to Champagne in the left corner. With Sens goaltender Robin Lehner sliding toward the left post, Champagne quickly backhanded the puck in front, finding Barry Almeida for a slam dunk into an empty net.”

Galiev was one of the Bears shootout participants but had his shot stopped.

ALBANY VS CONNECTICUT
Eric Gelinas helped the Albany Devils defeat the Connecticut Whale 3-1 last night. He didn’t record any points but former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle Raman Hrabarenka did register two assists. Recap.

W-B/S VS ROCHESTER
According to the lineup sheet the Rochester Americans sent out, Alex Grant played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in their 4-3 win last night. Chirps From Center Ice has a recap.

The Penguins host Rochester on Friday night.

HOUSTON VS TEXAS
The Houston Aeros fell 7-2 to the Texas Stars last night. Former Sea Dog Nick Petersen had a goal for Houston.

According to the Aeros radio guy, Zack Phillips played on a line with Petersen.

Former Sea Dog Scott Howes was a scratch for the Stars.

The Aeros play in Oklahoma City tomorrow night.

ROCKFORD VS CHICAGO
The Chicago Wolves beat the Rockford IceHogs 6-1 last night. Both Yann Sauve and Steven Anthony had an impact.

Fourth liner Steven Anthony would redirect a long shot 28 seconds afterward to double the Wolves' lead.
The Wolves would add one more five minutes later when Yann Sauve floated a shot from the circle that fooled Kent Simpson.

Anthony played on a line with Nathan Longpre and Guillaume Desbiens. Sauve was paired with Chris Tanev. Mathieu Corbeil did not play in net.

The Wolves take on the Peoria Rivermen on Friday.

HAMILTON BULLDOGS
The Hamilton Bulldogs announced some cuts last night but Sea Dogs defenseman Kevin Gagne and forward Stephen MacAulay were not among them. Nathan Beaulieu and Robert Mayer are still at camp as well.

Here’s video of Beaulieu taking a penalty shot during a scrimmage.

GRAND RAPIDS
Detroit Red Wings fans really want to see Tomas Jurco. In a poll on MLive.com, 31% of the voters wanted to see Jurco more than any other Grand Rapids Griffins player.

Here’s an extremely well made video from Griffins camp.
