Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc
Bergevin announced today the signing of former Sea Dogs forward and free agent Stephen
MacAulay to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2013-2014 season. As per club policy, financial terms of the
agreement were not disclosed.

MacAulay was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the
sixth-round of the 2010 NHL Draft but never signed with the club. After winning
his second Memorial Cup in May, he received an invite to Canadiens development
camp which took place last week where he earned a contract.
The Cole Harbour native spent four-and-a-half seasons
with Saint John before being traded to Halifax last winter. His junior career
saw him win four regular season titles, play in four President Cup finals, win
three President Cups, play in three Memorial Cups, and win two Memorial Cups.
According to the Bulldogs website, “MacAulay compiled 155
points (71 goals, 84 assists) in 280 regular season games and 53 points (22
goals, 31 assists) in 75 post-season games.”
MacAulay joins former Sea Dogs Nathan Beaulieu and Robert
Mayer in the Montreal system. Former Dogs head coach Gerard Gallant is also an
assistant coach with the Habs.
