Jurco Named To Slovakia's Olympic Team

Former Sea Dogs forward Tomas Jurco is heading to Sochi.

Slovakia unveiled their roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics today. The full roster, which includes the likes of Zdeno Chara and Marian Hossa, can be found on the IIHF website.

Jurco is having quite a season in North America. He has 12 goals and 17 assists in 29 American Hockey League games with the Grand Rapids Griffins. He made his National Hockey League debut this year as well and recorded two goals and an assist in seven matches with the Detroit Red Wings.

The 21-year old played with Slovakia at the world juniors twice, registering two goals and seven assists in 11 games.

Slovakia is in Group A with Russia, the United States, and Slovenia. Their first game is on February 13th against the US.
