The Sea Dogs defensive prospect had a goal and an assist
in the Czech’s 4-2 victory over the United States. Zboril scored his team’s
first goal on a five-on-three power play.
The Hockey News’ Ryan Kennedy listed Zboril as a player to watch at this year’s tournament.
“Zboril is a smart
defenseman with good size who can contribute at both ends of the rink,
including on the power play,” writes Kennedy.
The Czech Republic take on Finland tomorrow and Russia on
Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Team Canada opened up the under-18 tournament
with a 5-1 win over Switzerland. The Canadians take on Sweden tomorrow.

The lineup sheets handed out at Harbour Station today
featured a few names not listed on Saint John’s original training camp roster.
Here is a closer look at the three.
Jonathan Reinhart – Goaltender, 5’10”, 159 lbs
The 18-year old from Cambridge, Ontario posted a 2.15 GAA
and .930 SV% in 22 games with the GOJHL’s Elmira Sugar Kings last season.
Alexandre Pouliot – Forward, 5’10”, 179 lbs
The 17-year old from Saints-Anges, Quebec registered
three goals and four assists in 40 games with the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League’s
Levis Commandeurs last season. He added two goals in six playoff games.
Jacob Blair – Goaltender, 6’2”, 176 lbs
The 19-year old from Ottawa was a sixth-round pick of the
Ottawa 67’s in the 2011 OHL Draft. He has played in the OHL the past couple seasons.
He had a 5.76 GAA and .815 SV% in eight games with the 67’s last season.
UP NEXT
Training camp continues tomorrow at Harbour Station. At
8:45 a.m., goalies will have a practice. There will also once again be
scrimmages at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Sea Dogs received a 2016 sixth-round pick in exchange
for Landry. Last season, the Caraquet native went 3-10 with a 4.81 GAA and .867
SV%.
