Pre-Season Game Day 5 - vs Islanders

A preview of tonight’s game between the Charlottetown Islanders and Saint John Sea Dogs…

When and where: Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Harbour Station

TV/Radio: None

Records: The Islanders sit fifth in the Maritimes Division and 12th overall with a 2-2-0-0 record for four points. The Sea Dogs are fourth in the Maritimes and 11th overall with a 2-1-0-1 record for five points.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Mooseheads on August 23. Samuel Dove-McFalls, Matt Green, and Mathieu Joseph all scored as Saint John erased a 3-0 deficit. The Islanders are coming off a 7-5 win over the Wildcats on August 24. Daniel Sprong and Kameron Kielly each scored twice in the win.

2013-14 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs went 4-4-0-1 against the Islanders last season while Charlottetown went 5-3-0-1 against Saint John.

Last meeting: March 15 when the Islanders defeated the Sea Dogs 6-2 on the final day of the 2013-14 regular season. Spencer Smallman had both Saint John goals.

Random stat: The Islanders only had seven wins last season when scoring first - the fewest in the league.

Ex-Sea Dogs on the Islanders: Forward Oliver Cooper and defenseman Will Thompson

CHA notes: Kameron Kielly leads the Islanders in pre-season scoring with three goals and three assists for six points… former Sea Dog Oliver Cooper has a goal and an assist in one pre-season contest… Will Thompson has two assists in three exhibition games… the Isles have already unveiled their 2014-15 roster.

SJ notes: Stefano Pezzetta, who has been released by the Sea Dogs, still has a team best four points… Samuel Dove-McFalls, Mathieu Joseph, and Sheehan Kirkwood each have three points… 16-year old Alexander Kealey has rejoined the Sea Dogs… 26 players remain at Sea Dogs camp… huge weekend for Juraj Siska and Nikita Li... this is the first of three straight games between the Dogs and Isles.

Next game: The Sea Dogs visit Charlottetown tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. to battle the Islanders. It's the final pre-season game for both clubs.
