Tremaine Named New Captain

In some not so shocking news, Mark Tremaine has been named the new captain of the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Tremaine takes over for Olivier LeBlanc who was traded to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles last week. The 20-year old forward was an obvious choice to receive the ‘C.’ Although this is his first season with the Sea Dogs, it’s his fourth in the QMJHL.

Meanwhile, Samuel Dove-McFalls has been named an alternate captain. The 17-year old joins fellow forwards Spencer Smallman and Matthew Highmore has alternates.

"I think Sammy's really deserved it," said Sea Dogs head coach Ross Yates in a press release. "He's stepped up this year, not only on the ice, but in the dressing room. We're looking toward the future here and we're looking for Sammy to be a big part of our leadership group moving forward."

The Sea Dogs are back in action on Wednesday night when they host the Drummondville Voltigeurs at 7 p.m.
