GAME DAY 33: at Cape Breton

A preview of tonight’s game between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles…

When and where: Tonight at 7 p.m., Harbour Station

Records: The Sea Dogs are third in the Maritimes Division and ninth overall in the QMJHL standings with an 18-12-2-0 record for 38 points. The Screaming Eagles are second in the Maritimes and eighth overall with a record of 18-13-3-0 for 39 points.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-5 loss in Halifax last night. Luke Green had a hat trick while singles came from Matt Murphy and Daniel Del Paggio. Alex Bishop made 22 saves while Marc-Antoine Turcotte made five. The Screaming Eagles are coming off a 3-2 shootout win over the Rimouski Oceanic last night at Centre 200. Michael Joly scored both Cape Breton goals while Alexandre Belanger made 25 saves in the win.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 2-0-0-0 against the Screaming Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 0-2-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 13 at Harbour Station where the Sea Dogs defeated the Screaming Eagles 5-1. Joe Veleno, Thomas Chabot, Daniel Del Paggio, Sam Povorozniouk and Mathieu Joseph all scored for Saint John while Maxim Lazarev replied for Halifax. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 29 saves in the win. Alexandre Belanger made 16 saves and Kyle Jessiman made four in the loss.
