GAME DAY 58: at Halifax

The Saint John Sea Dogs (37-16-4-0, 78 points, 1st Maritimes, 3rd QMJHL) make their final trip of the regular season to Halifax today to battle the Mooseheads (18-35-6-1, 43 points, 6th Maritimes, 17th QMJHL) at 7 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs and Mooseheads are coming off a Thursday night matchup at Harbour Station that saw Saint John post a 2-0 victory. Mathieu Joseph and Joe Veleno scored for the Dogs. Alex Bishop made 32 saves for his first QMJHL shutout. Eric Brassard made 34 stops in the loss.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 5-2-0-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 2-4-1-0 against Saint John.

Ex-Sea Dogs on the Mooseheads: Forward Kelly Bent

Player to watch: Max Fortier has six goals and two assists in seven games against the Sea Dogs this season.

Three Things to Know
1. Thursday’s first period fight between Bokondji Imama and Kelly Bent caused quite a stir. Will we see anything between the two tonight? This could be their final meeting in junior.

2. Sam Povorozniouk has five goals and three assists in seven games against the Mooseheads this year.

3. The Sea Dogs enter play tonight in third place in the overall standings with 78 points – the same point total as the second-place Shawinigan Cataractes. Shawinigan is hosting the Charlottetown Islanders today.

Notes: The Mooseheads are 12-15-3-0 at Scotiabank Centre this season… the Sea Dogs are 18-8-2-0 on the road… Kelly Bent has picked up penalty minutes in eight straight games… Anthony Sorrentino has goals in four straight home games… Adam Marsh, who did not play on Thursday due to injury, has points in eight straight road games… the Moose are 2-7-1-0 in their past 10 games… Max Fortier leads the Mooseheads in scoring with 28 goals and 68 points in 60 games… Mathieu Joseph leads the Sea Dogs in scoring with 31 goals and 65 points in 53 games.
