Sea Dogs Attendance Up Slightly

The numbers are in: the Saint John Sea Dogs saw an attendance increase this season.

The Sea Dogs finished the regular season with an average of 3,629 fans per game, good for fourth most in the QMJHL. That's an increase of 47 fans per game compared to last year. A slight increase, but an increase nonetheless.

This is the second straight season Saint John's attendance has been on the rise since it hit a franchise low in 2013-14. Here's a look at the year-by-year numbers:

Saint John's regular season finale saw Harbour Station sold out for the first time since 2013.

It'll be interesting to see what Trevor Georgie and the Sea Dogs do over the summer and into next season to try and boost attendance. With a new president, surely some new ideas will be introduced. The team has stated that they want to get more young people at games.

The league average entering the final weekend of the regular season is 3,383 fans per game. As usual, Quebec City led the league (13,796 - with one home game remaining) while Bathurst was last (1,518)
