Saint John's 2016 draft class

The Sea Dogs drafted a total of 14 players at Saturday's QMJHL Entry Draft.

Saint John's 2016 draft class was highlighted by Olivier Mathieu, the team's only first round pick, and Shane Bowers, a second round pick who is more like a top-five pick.

Of the 14 picks, nine are forwards, four are defensemen and one is a goaltender. The team's two American picks were Matt Gould (Boston Jr Bruins) and Derek Fournier (Bangor High School).
