Game Day 8: at Blainville-Boisbriand

The Saint John Sea Dogs (5-2-0-0) look to extend their winning streak to six games tonight when they take on the St. John’s Fog Devils/Montreal Junior/Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (4-3-0-1) in Quebec. Game time is 8 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-3 win in Sherbrooke on Sunday. Matthew Highmore scored twice while singles came from Mathieu Joseph, Joe Veleno and Alexandre Bernier. Alex D’Orio made 21 stops in the victory. The Armada are coming off a 2-1 win in Victoriaville on Monday. Alexandre Alain and Yvan Mongo scored for the Armada while Samuel Montembeault made 24 saves in the win.

2016-17 head-to-head: This is the first meeting of the season between the two.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 1-1-0-0 against the Armada last season while Blainville-Boisbriand went 1-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Oct. 17, 2015 in Boisbriand where the Sea Dogs defeated the Armada 5-3. Sam Povorozniouk scored twice for Saint John while singles came from Mathieu Joseph, Adam Marsh and Spencer Smallman. Philippe Sanche scored twice for the Armada and TJ Melanccon added a solo marker. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 21 saves in the win. Samuel Montembeault and Mark Grametbauer combined to allow four goals on 19 shots.

Random stat: According to the league website, the Sea Dogs are 2-5-1-0 against the Armada over the past five seasons. They are 1-2-1-0 in Boisbriand.
