SYDNEY, NS - The Saint John Sea Dogs will have a different looking lineup on Wednesday night when they face the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Centre 200.
The Sea Dogs announced on Tuesday that defenceman Thomas Ashe has been recalled from the MHL's Amherst Ramblers. The 17-year-old is in his first season with the Ramblers, recording one goal in 18 games.
Ashe, 6’0″ and 182 lbs., was a ninth-round pick of Saint John in the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft. He has yet to appear in a regular season Q game - which will likely change tomorrow.
With Samuel Duchesne suspended for Wednesday's match, Brendan O'Reilly's unknown injury status and Marcus Tesink no longer with the club, the Sea Dogs were down to five defencemen prior to Ashe's recall.
O'Reilly was injured early in Sunday's Sea Dogs loss in Charlottetown. Duchesne will serve a one-game suspension on Wednesday for taking part in a second fight during the same stoppage on Sunday. Tesink, meanwhile, has reportedly joined the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs - the team O'Reilly left to join the Sea Dogs.

Tesink appeared in 15 games with Saint John, recording two assists. He had not appeared in a game since Nov. 10.
The Sea Dogs will also be without forwards Cole Reginato and Robbie Burt on Wednesday due to suspensions. Goaltender Alex D'Orio missed both of last weekend's games due to an injury.
