Game Day 31: at Moncton

MONCTON - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to rebound from Friday's rough loss today against the Moncton Wildcats.

The Sea Dogs fell 10-2 in Halifax on Friday despite not being that badly outplayed by the Mooseheads. Things won't be much easier against the Wildcats - who currently sit third overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League - this afternoon.

Game time at the Avenir Centre is 4 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 4-23-2-1 for 11 points (sixth Maritimes, 18th overall) while the Wildcats are 21-9-2-0 for 44 points (first Maritimes, third QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 10-2 loss in Halifax on Friday night. Nicholas Deakin-Poot and Jeremie Jacob scored for Saint John. Mikhail Denisov was pulled after allowing five goals on 16 shots. Tommy DaSilva allowed five goals on 15 shots in relief. The Wildcats are coming off a 4-3 home loss to the Charlottetown Islanders on Friday. Jonathan Aspirot scored twice for Moncton while Jakob Pelletier added a single. Francis Leclerc made 30 stops in the loss.

Last meeting: Oct. 25 at the Avenir Centre where the Wildcats defeated the Sea Dogs 5-2. Jeremy McKenna had two goals for Moncton while singles came from Mika Cyr, Jakob Pelletier and Simon Le Coultre. Yohan Plamondon and Brady Burns scored for Saint John. Francis Leclerc made 37 stops in the win. Alex D'Orio made 37 stops in the loss.
