Recap: Sea Dogs win 5-1

FINAL: Bathurst 1, Saint John 5
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs completed a weekend sweep of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday afternoon.

Maxim Cajkovic scored twice to lead the Sea Dogs to a 5-1 victory over the Titan at TD Station. The victory came less than 24 hours after Saint John defeated Bathurst 4-3 at the KC Irving Regional Centre.

Brady Burns, Matt Gould and Dawson Stairs also scored. Zachary Bouthillier, who had Saturday off, made 34 saves in the win.

Logan Chisholm scored for Bathurst. Felix-Anthony Ethier allowed four goals on 15 shots before being replaced by Tristan Berube to start the second. Berube made 30 saves in the final 40 minutes.

Saint John is now 4-0 against the last-place Titan this season. Bathurst, meanwhile, is still looking for their first road win of the season, falling to 0-8-1-2 away from the KCI.

LINEUP
SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without defensemen Olivier DesRoches (injured) and Patrick Musico (healthy); and forwards Alexis Belisle (healthy), Aidan MacIntosh (healthy) and Jeremie Jacob (healthy).

BRING THE BEARS: Maxim Cajkovic's power play goal at 9:04 of the first period brought the bears down at TD Station.
STILL HOT: With two more goals on Sunday, Maxim Cajkovic extended his point streak to eight games. He has recorded a point in every game he has played in since returning from injury. He now has eight goals and seven assists in the month of November.

REVIEW: William Villeneuve thought he had scored midway through the first period when he fired a puck into the pads of Felix-Anthony Ethier who spun along the goal line. The goal light came on but the officials declared no goal. After a short review, the goal was officially called off.

BIG FIRST: The Sea Dogs had one of their best first periods of the season on Sunday, scoring four times on 15 shots. Entering the game, the Sea Dogs had scored just 18 first period goals, which has been their least offensive period by far this season (second periods: 36 goals; thirds: 30).

NOTES: Before the game, Alex Drover was named the Sea Dogs' student of the month for October... Zachary Bouthillier got run over in the second period and remained on the ice for a few moments. He would stay in the game... the Sea Dogs killed a full two-minute five-on-three power play in the third period... Jeremie Poirier had nine shots on goal.
