SAINT JOHN - Make it six straight wins for the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Sea Dogs extended their winning streak with a 4-2 victory over the league-leading Quebec Remparts on Sunday afternoon at TD Station. The Remparts, who were playing the final match of a three-game, four-day Maritime road trip, hadn't lost in 10 straight games.

William Villeneuve, Josh Lawrence, Peter Reynolds and Vincent Sevigny scored for Saint John. Thomas Couture was very good in net, making 37 stops in the win.

The Sea Dogs grabbed a 2-0 lead in the opening minute of the second period. While play was fairly even for much of the game, the Remparts pressed at times in the second half as they tried to net the equalizer. 

Trailing 3-2, the Remparts pulled their goaltender with 1:58 remaining. After struggling to get things setup in the offensive zone, Sevigny scored into the empty net with 28 seconds remaining to make it a 4-2 final. Shots were 19-7 in favour of Quebec in the final frame.

Theo Rochette and Louis Crevier had Quebec goals. William Rousseau made 27 saves in the loss.

The Sea Dogs now have 80 points on the season, pushing them into third overall in the Eastern Conference. They have a two-point lead on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan who have a game in-hand.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without goaltender Noah Patenaude (injury); defensemen Yan Kuznetsov (injury) and Vincent Despont (healthy); and forwards Marshall Lessard (injured or sick) and Jacob Chantler (healthy). The Sea Dogs listed 13 forwards on their lineup sheet with Chantler the final scratch.

PRE-GAME: There were a couple of ceremonies before the game. William Dufour was honoured for breaking the Sea Dogs franchise record for most goals in a single season while William Villeneuve was honoured for breaking the team record for most assists by a Sea Dogs defenseman. 

LAWRENCE: Josh Lawrence now has goals in four straight games thanks to a perfectly placed and patient power play goal in the second period. The streak comes after going eight straight games without one.

STREAKS: Josh Lawrence extended his home points streak to 23 games while William Dufour extended his to 21 games. The two have both passed Chris DiDomenico, who held the previous home points streak record of 19 games (2007-08).

LONG TRIP: According to broadcaster John Moore, the Remparts arrived in Saint John at 3 a.m. this morning. The team played in Halifax on Saturday night and Sydney on Thursday. They head home with a 2-1 record, outscoring opponents 21-12.

NOTES: Olivier Picard returned from his three-game suspension... former NHLer Martin Gelinas, now a development coach with the Calgary Flames, was in attendance... this was Saint John's final Sunday home game of the regular season... Raivis Ansons was shaken up a bit at the end of the first period after being hit by a William Dufour shot... James Malatesta had his four-game goal scoring streak come to an end... Zachary Bolduc extended his point streak to nine games... Jeremie Poirier had five shots... Riley Bezeau had seven hits... attendance was 2,764.
