Jeremie Poirier made some Calgary Wranglers history on Sunday.
Poirier, who was playing in his first career AHL game, finished the contest with four shots and a -2 rating.
The former Saint John Sea Dogs defenseman scored the first goal in Wranglers American Hockey League history, converting on a power play in the second period.

The Wranglers went on to lose the game 6-5 to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the new AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken.

Former Sea Dogs forward Philippe Daoust also scored his first career AHL goal this past weekend, connecting in the Belleville Senators' 6-3 home win over the Laval Rocket on Saturday.

Daoust, who recorded five assists in 15 games with the Senators last season, is off to a strong start, posting a goal and two helpers in two games so far. Former Dogs forward Cedric Pare also has a goal and two assists in two games with Belleville this season.
A few other members of Saint John's 2022 Memorial Cup championship team made their AHL debuts this past weekend, including Raivis Ansons (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins), Riley Bezeau (Charlotte Checkers) and William Dufour (Bridgeport Islanders). William Villeneuve (Toronto Marlies) and Yan Kuznetsov (Calgary Wranglers), who have previously appeared in AHL games, also made their season debuts this past weekend.
