It was a long wait, but Jakub Zboril has finally scored his first career NHL goal.
The former Saint John Sea Dogs defenseman scored what proved to be the game-winner in the Boston Bruins' 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

Zboril finished the game with one shot on goal and a +1 rating in 11:36 of ice time.

The 25-year-old spent three seasons in Saint John before graduating to the professional ranks. He made his NHL debut during the 2018-19 campaign and has appeared in 65 games with the Boston Bruins over four seasons. He missed most of last year recovering from surgery.
In 11 games this season, Zboril has one point.
Elsewhere Saturday, former Sea Dogs forward Riley Bezeau scored his first professional goal in the Charlotte Checkers' 6-5 shootout victory over the Hartford Wolfpack.

Bezeau, who helped the Sea Dogs win the Memorial Cup in June, has one goal in four AHL games this season.
