Game Day 61: vs Eagles

- The Saint John Sea Dogs and Cape Breton Eagles meet again tonight at TD Station.

The two met on Sunday afternoon in Saint John where the Sea Dogs edged the visiting side 6-5. Tonight will be the ninth and final meeting of the regular season between the two. Each side has won four times.

Points remain critical for Saint John as they try and grab the QMJHL's final playoff spot. The Sea Dogs enter play tonight three points back of the Val-d'Or Foreurs with a game in-hand.

2022-23 regular season records: The Sea Dogs are 21-36-2-1 for 45 points (fifth Maritimes/ninth Eastern/17th QMJHL) while the Eagles are 24-31-3-1 for 52 points (fourth Maritimes/eighth Eastern/14th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs and Eagles met on Sunday afternoon at TD Station where Saint John pulled off a 6-5 win. Peter Reynolds scored twice for Saint John while singles came from Joseph Ianniello, Nicolas Bilodeau, Noah Reinhart and Alex Drover. Cape Breton had a pair of goals from Olivier Houde and solo markers from Cam Squires, Angelo Fullerton and Jacob Newcombe. Ventsislav Shingarov made 28 saves in the win. Oliver Satny made 35 stops in the loss.

2022-23 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 4-3-1-0 against the Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 4-4-0-0 against Saint John.
