Game Day 49: at Moncton

MONCTON - The Saint John Sea Dogs take on a struggling Moncton Wildcats squad today at Avenir Centre.

The Wildcats have dropped five of their past six games — including a disappointing 7-5 home loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan last night — as they have fallen 10 points back of the Maritimes Division leading Halifax Mooseheads.

Much like the Sea Dogs this season, the Wildcats have struggled at home, posting a pedestrian 11-8-1-3 record at Avenir Centre.

Game time today is 4 p.m.

2023-24 regular season records: The Sea Dogs are 16-26-3-3 for 38 points (sixth Maritimes/10th Eastern/17th QMJHL) while the Wildcats are 27-13-3-3 for 60 points (second Maritimes/third Eastern/sixth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-3 loss in Bathurst on Friday. Brody Fournier, Drew Elliott and Coen Miller scored for Saint John. Justin Robinson made 52 saves in the loss. The Wildcats are coming off a 7-5 home loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan last night. Gabe Smith, Connor Trenholm, Olivier Boutin, Caleb Desnoyers and Natan Grenier all scored for Moncton. Jacob Steinman and Keegan Warren took the loss the net.

Jacob Steinman made 27 saves in the win. Justin Robinson made 33 stops in the loss.
