Bonnet reassigned to LHJAAAQ

Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs
The Saint John Sea Dogs announced a roster move on Monday, assigning defenseman Julien Bonnet to the Gatineau Flames of the LHJAAAQ.

Bonnet began the season with the Sea Dogs but has only appeared in six QMJHL games. His last appearance with the club was on Oct. 20.

The 17-year-old was a seventh-round pick of Saint John in the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Bonnet has not appeared in any junior A games in his playing career. He spent the previous two seasons in the Quebec under-18 circuit with the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois. He posted four goals and 15 points in 41 regular season games last year.

The roster move doesn't come as a huge surprise as the Sea Dogs have been carrying too many defensemen following the return of Matteo Mann from AHL camp. The team now has eight on their roster with Bonnet reassigned.

The Sea Dogs are back in action on Thursday when they host the Moncton Wildcats at 7 p.m.
