Recap: Sea Dogs lose 4-3

SAINT JOHN - The Acadie-Bathurst Titan seem to enjoy playing at TD Station.

The Titan earned their second win of the season in the building on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Saint John Sea Dogs 4-3. The Titan remain undefeated on the road this year, improving to 4-0-0-0.

After a back-and-forth second period that saw the two teams deadlocked at 2-2, Bathurst took their first lead of the game at 8:05 of the third when Mavrick Brunet netted his first of the year. Then at 17:54, Colby Huggan scored a backbreaker, putting the Titan up 4-2.

Zachary Morin made it interesting by scoring a six-on-five goal with 45 seconds remaining but Saint John wouldn't get any closer.

Blake Pilgrim-Edwards and Maddex Marmulak also scored for Bathurst. Joshua Fleming made 32 stops in a first star performance.

Along with Morin, Eriks Mateiko and Egan Beveridge scored for Saint John. Charles-Edward Gravel made 28 saves in the loss.

The Sea Dogs fell to 7-5-0-0 on the year with the loss. They are 3-4-0-0 at TD Station.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without defensemen Olivier Duhamel (injury or sickness), Giuliano Caputo (serving the second game of a two-game suspension) and Cruz Scanzano (healthy) along with forwards Jacob Beaulieu (healthy) and Dylan Rozzi (healthy).

NOTES: Defenseman Benjamin Amyot returned from injury, playing in his first game since Sept. 29... Eriks Mateiko has now scored in four straight home games... Zachary Morin extended his point streak to five games. He has recorded a point in every Sea Dogs game he has played in... this was Morin's first "real goal" after netting an empty netter on Friday... Morin and Mateiko each had a goal and an assist... Nate Tivey and Egan Beveridge each had five shots... attendance was 2,003.
