Pre-Season Game Day 5: at Newfoundland

Newfoundland Regiment
FREDERICTON - With their regular season roster nearly set, the Saint John Sea Dogs resume pre-season play tonight.

The Sea Dogs made a big wave of cuts on Sunday, reassigning 16 players. The cuts came after the Sea Dogs played four pre-season games, which included a Saturday night contest against the Newfoundland Regiment in Fredericton.

The Sea Dogs and Regiment will meet again tonight at Willie O'Ree Place. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Sea Dogs are still looking for their first win of the pre-season. Two of their three losses have come in overtime while their first game ended in a tie after five minutes of extra time.

As of Sunday, 14 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders remained on Saint John's training camp roster. Tonight should give fans a better look at the team's opening night roster.

The Regiment, meanwhile, are a perfect 4-0 this pre-season. This will be the team's final exhibition game as their camp makes the move to St. John's. They won't play again until Sept. 18 at Mary Brown's Centre – the club's regular season opener against the Moncton Wildcats.
