Game Day 6: vs Sagueneens

Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs
SAINT JOHN - Coming off a big road win over the defending QMJHL champions, things don't get any easier for the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Sea Dogs are back on home ice this afternoon where they'll welcome the Chicoutimi Sagueneens at 3 p.m. The Sags, who are expected to be championship contenders this season, currently sit second in the QMJHL's Eastern Conference with a 4-1-0-1 record.

Chicoutimi, despite being the road team, will be the more rested squad today. The Sags played in Cape Breton on Thursday and Friday – winning both games – and had yesterday off to prepare for this afternoon's contest.

The Sea Dogs, meanwhile, played in Moncton last night, a game that was a bit of a rollercoaster and ended in a 7-5 Sea Dogs win. Saint John has played their last three games on the road after opening the season with a split on home ice.
