Nobody was called up to replace him… the Sea Dogs sit first in the Atlantic division, first overall in the QMJHL, and are ranked second in the country for the eighth straight week… 7-3-0-0 in their last 10 games and have won three straight games… coming off a rather convincing 8-2 blowout over Bathurst last night. The game featured a Michael Kirkpatrick hat trick, six different scorers, and only six Sea Dog players not registering a point. Christian Morin, Nathan Beaulieu, and Nicholas Pard all had fights… Michael Kirkpatrick is on an eight game point scoring streak. In that span he has five goals and 11 assists… Stanislav Galiev has now slipped to third in rookie scoring with 10 goals and 32 assists. He still leads rookies in +/- with a rating of +32… eight of the top 10 players in QMJHL +/- ratings play for Saint John. Nicholas Petersen leads the way with +4l while Nathan Beaulieu leads all defenseman with a +38… today’s game will end the Sea Dogs’ five-game home stand. They are 3-1-0-0 on the stand... 19-4-0-0 at Harbour Station this season. They are 8-2-0-0 in thier last 10 home games and have won three straight.

At Moncton, N.B., Scott Brannon and Kelsey Tessier both scored and had an assist as the Wildcats beat Chicoutimi.

Marek Hrivik, Gabriel Bourque and Randy Cameron added singles for Moncton (30-11-4).
Alexandre Lavoie was the lone scorer for the Sagueneens (16-21-8).

  • Sunday’s contest has been designated a Family Fun Day. Special 4-for-40 ticket packages will be available for purchase, with a post-game autograph session to be held on the arena concourse and a Kids’ Fun Zone to be set up next to Sea Dogs Central (Section S).

  • The Home Depot will be also be distributing rally towels to fans on Sunday.

  • The Canadian Red Cross Society will be have a booth set up on the main concourse at Harbour Station for both of this weekend's Sea Dogs home games. Cash donations will be accepted at the booth, with all proceeds set to go towards the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Fund.

  • In their only meeting this season on October 29, 2009, the Sea Dogs defeated the Sagueneens 3-1 in Chicoutimi. Jonathan Huberdeau and Steven Anthony both scored while Yann Sauve picked up the first star with a goal. Marc-Antoine Gelinas picked up the win, stopping 20 shots.
