SCRATCHES
Gabriel Bourret was scratched after being suspended earlier this week due to breaking the team’s player conduct policy. Aiden Kelly was also a healthy scratch.

DÉJÀ VU
This was the second time this season the Sea Dogs have defeated the Titan 8-2 at Harbour Station. On November 14 the Titan also fell to Saint John in what was the Dogs’ 13th straight win in their 22-game winning streak.

Like Saturday night’s game, November 14 also featured a hat trick with Zach Phillips picking up a trick.

FIGHT FEST
The game featured three very entertaining fights. The first took place in the third period when Christian Morin and Vincent Arseneau dropped the gloves. It was about as staged as you can get in the QMJHL with Morin jumping over the boards for a line change and going right after Arseneau.

Then just three seconds later Nathan Beaulieu absolutely destroyed Jeremie Malouin. It was Beaulieu’s second fight of the season against the Titan and this one was just as good if not better.

Finally, Nicholas Pard and Jordan Moore took part in a very spirited tilt that took a few moments to break up when the players fell to the ice.

A TEAM EFFORT
Although Michael Kirkpatrick recorded enough goals for a Sea Dogs win, it was a team effort on Saturday night.

Only six players failed to register a point. Six players scored goals while 10 players had assists. Nathan Beaulieu had a big night with four assists.

The line of Stanislav Galiev, Nicholas Petersen, and Mike Hoffman took the night off and combined to register only two assists between the three of them.

SEADOGSTV HIGHLIGHTS

OUT OF TOWN
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Victoriaville 6 Gatineau 4; Moncton 5 Chicoutimi 1; Drummondville 6 PEI 5 (SO); and Val-d'Or 4 Lewiston 3 (SO).

Drummondville is currently in second place overall behind the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Four of the top teams in the league won Saturday, as the Voltigeurs, Sea Dogs, Victoriaville Tigres and Moncton Wildcats all came out on top of their opponents.

GAME NOTES
Saint John is now a perfect 7-0-0-0 against Bathurst this season and will try to go for a season sweep next month at Harbour Station… Titan goalie Francois Lacerte made his first start in the Bathurst goal and was fairly solid in net. He was pulled but was later put back in… Bathurst’s defense struggled and gave up a few breakaways and odd man rushes… the score was 1-0 Saint John until the last minute of play of the first period where the Sea Dogs scored twice… Saint John’s penalty kill continues to improve and went 5/6… the first penalty of the game came at 5:00 of the second period.
