EVALUATION CAMP COMPLETED

Hockey Canada’s national junior team summer evaluation camp wrapped up Saturday evening at Mile One Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Team White finished off a sweep of Team Red by winning 5-2. White won the first and only other game of the camp 6-3 on Friday evening.

Once again, Saint John Sea Dogs defencemen Simon Despres and Nathan Beaulieu were held off the score sheet, making both finish the camp without a point.

Montreal Junior forward Louis Leblanc registered two assists while Sean Couturier added one in the Team White victory.

According to a tweet sent out by Hockey Canada, Despres was paired with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound defender Brock Beukeboom. The 2010 Tampa Bay Lightning third rounder failed to record a point in the game as well.

Beaulieu played alongside Stefan Elliot of the Saskatoon Blades. Elliot, a Colorado Avalanche draft choice, did not record a point either.

The 22-man roster that will represent Canada at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo, New York will be named in mid-December following a selection camp.
