PREVIEW
HALIFAX – After suffering a 4-3 loss to the Halifax Mooseheads last night, the Saint John Sea Dogs will be looking for redemption tonight. The Sea Dogs and Mooseheads meet again this evening, this time at the Halifax Metro Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.

Brent Andrews scored the winner on a shorthanded breaker at 14:06 of the third period, giving Halifax a late 4-3 advantage. That’s the way it would end. The Sea Dogs never trailed in the game until Andrews netted the deciding goal.

Jurij Repe gave Saint John a 1-0 lead in the first. Jonathan Drouin tied it early in the second and then Jonathan Huberdeau put the Dogs back in front at 5:51, scoring a strange goal from the corner. Martin Frk tied things back up late in the frame, blasting the puck past everyone and in. Halifax outshot Saint John 20-7 in the second.

In the third, Olivier Leblanc scored his first Quebec Major Junior Hockey League goal at 2:34, putting Saint John back in front. Andrew Ryan would tie it again a couple minutes later, allowing Andrews to score the winner later on.

Halifax outshot Saint John 47-34 overall. Goaltender Sebastien Auger made 43 saves in another solid performance. Chris Clarke got his first win of the season in the Mooseheads net, making 31 stops.

The Mooseheads are now 5-1-0-0 on the year and are in sole possession of first place in the Telus Maritimes Division. They’ve won three straight and have outscored opponents 26-17.

The Sea Dogs sit second in the Maritimes with a 4-2-0-0 record. They saw their four-game winning streak come to an end last night. The Dogs have outscored opponents 19-13. Saint John is 2-0 on the road so far this year.

After tonight’s game, the Dogs and Moose don’t play each other again until December.
