The Sea Dogs are back in action tonight against the Cape
Breton Screaming Eagles. Puck drop is 7pm at Harbour Station. All youth upper
bowl tickets are just $2.00 ($1.00 Harbour Station service charge also applies).
Saint John has lost four straight games heading into this
evening’s contest and sit 14th overall in the QMJHL with 28 points.
Meanwhile, Cape Breton is just 1-8-0-1 in their last 10 and sits 16th
overall with 22 points. Someone will get a much needed victory tomorrow.
Following tonight’s game, the Sea Dogs prepare for a pair
of road games which take place this Friday and Sunday.
GALIEV
Former Sea Dogs forward Stanislav Galiev made ESPN’s
SportsCenter Top 10 last Friday thanks to his beautiful breakaway goal.

The Ready Royals, the East Coast Hockey League team
Galiev is currently playing with, along with fans began a Twitter campaign last
week to get the goal on ESPN. Obviously, it worked.
Galiev has three goals and nine assists in nine games
with the Royals. He had one assist in nine games with the Hershey Bears before
getting demoted.
HUBERDEAU
Sea Dogs captain Jonathan Huberdeau talked about his
four-game suspension at the Calgary airport yesterday. Huberdeau is in Calgary
for Team Canada’s world junior selection camp.
"It was tough to hear about (the suspension),"
Huberdeau told the Calgary Sun. "It was not intentional. I talked to
the (linesman) after the game and he didn't think it was my fault. But the
league made a decision. That's their job and I'm fine with that."
"I was just playing with emotion. The (linesman)
came and I think he slipped, and I got in a fight."
Huberdeau’s suspension begins tonight. NHL.com confirms this morning that “neither the International Ice Hockey Federation nor Hockey Canada
will uphold the league's suspension.”
REPE
Sea Dogs defenseman Jurij Repe and Team Slovenia are off
to a rough start at the Division 1 World Junior Hockey Championship. Slovenia
opened the tournament up on Sunday with a 2-0 loss to Belarus and the fell 4-3
to Denmark yesterday.
On Sunday, Repe recorded six minutes in penalties, two
shots, and a -1 rating. Yesterday, the Saint John defender served two minutes
in penalties and was a -1.
Slovenia, playing in Group A, plays France on Wednesday,
Austria on Thursday, and Norway on Saturday.
SEED
20-year old defenseman Jason Seed made his Maritime
Junior Hockey League debut over the weekend with the Summerside Western
Capitals.
In a 5-4 loss to the Woodstock Slammers on Friday night,
Seed registered an assist on Scott Trask’s third period goal. Former Sea Dogs
defenseman Spencer MacDonald is also playing with the Capitals and he recorded
19 minutes in penalties on Friday.
On Sunday, Seed was held pointless in Summerside’s 4-2
win over the Miramichi Timberwolves. Former Sea Dog Danny Wicks had a goal for
the Timberwolves.
