Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Central Scouting
unveiled their first-round player rankings for the 2013 Entry Draft last night.
As expected, Nicolas Roy is the top ranked player. St.
John’s native Nathan Noel is the top ranked Atlantic Canadian, coming in at No.
3.
Noel, a forward who played at Shattuck St. Mary’s this
past season, scored a nice goal at the QMJHL’s combine thing last weekend in Boisbriand.
Two New Brunswick players – defensemen Will Thompson of Rothesay Netherwood and
Luc Deschenes of the Fredericton Canadiens – are ranked 14th and 15th, respectively.
The QMJHL Entry Draft is June 8 in Chicoutimi. Saint John
has two first-round picks (as far as we know, at least...) with the first being
third overall.
