Game Day 50: at Moncton

MONCTON - For a third time this month, the Saint John Sea Dogs will take on the Moncton Wildcats tonight.

The Sea Dogs and Wildcats have met three times in the second half with Saint John winning all three easily, outscoring Moncton by a total of 19-3. The latest meeting, which took place on Saturday at TD Station, ended in a 6-2 Sea Dogs win.

These two clubs have been heading in opposite directions for a few weeks now. Saint John carries a nine-game winning streak into tonight's game while Moncton has dropped six straight.

Game time tonight at Avenir Centre is 7 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 30-15-1-3 for 64 points (third Maritimes/fourth Eastern/seventh QMJHL) while the Wildcats are 21-20-5-1 for 48 points (fifth Maritimes/seventh Eastern/11th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 6-2 win over the Wildcats on Saturday at TD Station. Ryan Francis, Cam MacDonald and Philippe Daoust all scored a pair of goals each. Thomas Couture made 19 saves in the win. The Wildcats are coming off a 5-3 loss in Charlottetown on Sunday. Yoan Loshing, Mathis Cloutier and Thomas Darcy all scored for Moncton. Vincent Filion made 38 stops in the loss.

2021-22 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-2-0-0 against the Wildcats this season while Moncton is 2-3-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: This past Saturday at TD Station where the Sea Dogs earned a 6-2 victory. Ryan Francis, Cam MacDonald and Philippe Daoust each scored a pair. Wildcats goals came from Maxim Barbashev and Brooklyn Kalmikov. Thomas Couture made 19 saves in the win. Jonathan Lemieux made 34 saves in the loss.
