Tesink Signs With Blues

Ryan Tesink hasn’t played in two months but that has not stopped the St. Louis Blues from signing the 19-year old forward.

From the Blues website:

The Blues have agreed in principle to an entry-level contract with prospect Ryan Tesink. 

Tesink, 19, is a forward currently playing with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. 

He was the Blues' sixth-round selection at the 2011 NHL Draft. 

This season, Tesink has played in 41 QMJHL games, including 35 with the Saint John Sea Dogs. He's registered 17 goals and 24 assists (41 points). He has a plus-6 rating and has recorded 81 penalty minutes.

So, there is a good chance Tesink plays pro hockey next season.

The Saint John native had 16 goals and 21 assists in the first half with Saint John. He was traded to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in exchange for the Sea Dogs’ own first-round pick. Tesink had a goal and three assists in six games with his new club but has not played since January 13 due to injury.

The Armada believe the Sea Dogs were aware of the injury prior to the trade. A hearing took place last month to discuss the transaction. Nearly one month later and we are still waiting for the results of the league's review.

The Armada are 40-18-2-6, have clinched the Telus West Division, and should have a good playoff run. Will Tesink return in the post-season? We’ll see.
