Fortin, 16, is currently playing with
the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League’s Magog Cantonniers.
The Sherbrooke native was a fifth-round
pick of the Quebec Remparts in this year’s QMJHL Entry Draft. He was traded to
Saint John along with a 2017 fourth-round pick in exchange for Alex McQuaid and
a 2015 fifth-round pick.
As seen above, Turcotte reports that the
Dogs will receive third- and fourth-round picks from the Cataractes in the deal. The
years of the picks were not reported.
Overagers, imports and non-roster
players can currently be traded. The official trading period begins on Dec. 19.
