VICTORIAVILLE, QC - The Saint John Sea Dogs saved their best for last.

Five different Sea Dogs scored in a 6-0 victory over the Victoriaville Tigres on Sunday at Colisee Desjardins. The win ended a three-game losing streak for Saint John and gives the team some positive momentum heading home from this Quebec trek.

Dylan Rozzi netted a pair of goals while Alexander Donovan, Everett Bladwin, Elliot Dubé and Olivers Murnieks added singles for Saint John. Angelo Fullerton registered three assists and Olivier Groulx had two.

Rafaël Courchesne made 26 saves in the shutout.

Gabriel D'Aigle allowed six goals on 46 shots loss.

The Sea Dogs got off to a strong start, outshooting the Tigres 12-4 in the opening frame and leading 1-0. Saint John scored two more in the second period but really put the game away early in the third when Murnieks scored just 29 seconds in and then Rozzi made it 5-0 at 1:21.

Saint John's offense had been struggling entering this game, scoring two or less goals in each of the past three games. The Sea Dogs were finally able to breakthrough in this game, taking advantage of a Tigres team that, entering the day, was averaging a league high 4.26 goals against per game.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without forward Alexis Joseph (U17 World Challenge) and Jacob Beaulieu (injury) along with defensemen Olivier Duhamel (injury) and Oskar Drabczynski (healthy).

NOTES: It looked as though Patryk Zubek had scored his first QMJHL goal to open the scoring in the first period. But after a review it was ruled offside... Alexander Donovan scored after being a healthy scratch on Friday. It was his first goal since Oct. 10... Olivers Murnieks' goal was his first point since Oct. 24... the three assists for Angelo Fullerton set a new career high for assists in a game. The three points ties his career high for points in a game... this was Saint John's second shutout win of the season. Rafaël Courchesne was in net for the other one as well but it appears the league has taken that shutout away from him, presumably for leaving the game for a couple minutes... Dylan Rozzi had seven shots... Everett Baldwin was a +4... the Tigres fall to 1-4-2-0 at home... attendance was 2,501.

HIGHLIGHTS

NEXT GAME: The Sea Dogs host the Quebec Remparts on Saturday at 7 p.m.
