The former Saint John Sea Dogs coaches helped Team Canada win gold at the IIHF World Championship in Latvia on Sunday afternoon, defeating Finland 3-2 in overtime.
Canada became the first country to ever win the tournament after an 0-3 start. The Canadians lost to Latvia, the United States and Germany before going on an improbable run to win gold.
After starting 0-3, what had to happen for Canada to make the #IIHFWorlds QFs:

DOW TRADED IN MHL
Speaking of Sam Dow, the 18-year-old had his Maritime Junior Hockey League rights traded last week.
From the MHL website:
Campbellton trades the rights to Sam Dow and future considerations to Summerside for 2nd round pick (Pictou County) in the 2021 draft, conditional 1st round pick in the 2022 draft, 3rd round pick in the 2022 draft and future considerations.
The Sea Dogs acquired the defenseman in a deal with the Moncton Wildcats last September. He appeared in seven regular season games with Saint John, recording an assist.
Summerside is presumably loading up for the upcoming season with the team hosting the Fred Page Cup in May.
BENT SCORES FIRST ECHL GOAL
Former Sea Dogs forward Kelly Bent scored his first professional goal on Saturday. Bent scored at 9:23 of the third period to give his Allen Americans a 4-0 lead over the Rapid City Rush on the final night of the ECHL's regular season.
