Some other news and notes...
  • 20-year-old forward Cole Foston, who played 14 games with the Sea Dogs in 2021-22, has committed to play at the Royal Military College beginning next season. Foston played with the MHL's Valley Wildcats and Miramichi Timberwolves this past season.
  • Halifax Mooseheads star forward Jordan Dumais has been suspended five games for violating the team and QMJHL code of conduct. Global News reports that Dumais has been charged with impaired driving.
  • Former Wildcats head coach Ted Nolan was honoured before Thursday's Wildcats/Eagles game at Avenir Centre as he looks to raise awareness during Multiple Myeloma Month. Nolan was diagnosed with multiple myeloma a year ago. He received treatment and is recovering.
  • Bit of a scary moment in the first period of Thursday's game in Moncton when Wildcats head coach Dan Lacroix took a puck to the back of his head. He stayed on the bench for the rest of the period with a trainer occasionally putting a towel to his head. He did not return for the second or third periods.
  • The Baie-Comeau Drakkar clinched the QMJHL's regular season title on Wednesday. It's the Drakkar's third Jean-Rougeau Trophy in franchise history.
  • Some good news for Saint John's playoff hopes: the Quebec Remparts lost 7-6 in Chicoutimi on Friday.
  • Tristan Luneau's season is officially over, according to reports. The Anaheim Ducks prospect will not play again this season. The Victoriaville Tigres had acquired his rights at the trade deadline in the hopes he would be healthy enough to return to game action.
