Saint John Sea Dogs first-round pick Olivier Leblanc is
among 40 players invited to Team Quebec’s under-17 camp. The camp began today
in Sherbrooke and goes until Sunday.
The 22 players selected for the team will represent Quebec at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in December.
Lebanc is on Team Blue at the camp which includes Daniel
Audette, the first overall pick in June’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Entry Draft.
The Sea Dogs selected Leblanc, a 16-year old defenseman,
with the 11th overall pick in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft.
According to Elite Prospects, Leblanc registered three
goals and 12 assists in 40 games with Séminaire St-François Blizzard of the
Quebec AAA ranks last year.
Leblanc is expected to make the Sea Dogs this season and
should see a decent amount of ice time since, y’know, this year’s team
isn’t exactly loaded with depth.
