VALLEY EXPO
Valley Expo is April 13-14 at the QPlex.
MacAULAY
Former Sea Dog Stephen MacAulay scored again on Saturday
night, helping the Halifax Mooseheads win 5-0 and take a 2-0 series lead in
their best-of-seven second-round playoff series against the Gatineau
Olympiques.
MacAulay now has five goals and an assist in five playoff
games this year. His career high in post-season points is 13, set last year.
Ryan Tesink did not play again but the
Blainville-Boisbriand Armada did not need him to take a 2-0 series lead over
the Val-d’Or Foreurs with a 5-4 win on Saturday. Baie-Comeau also took a 2-0 series lead
over Victoriaville with a 6-2 win and Quebec evened their series with Rouyn-Noranda
at 1-1 with a 4-2 victory.
HUBERDEAU
Jonathan Huberdeau picked up an assist on Dmitri Kulikov’s
game-winner last night, helping the Florida Panthers defeat the Ottawa Senators
2-1.
Huberdeau now has 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points
in 39 games with the Panthers. He still leads all NHL rookies in points, two points
ahead of Ottawa’s Cory Conacher. Huberdeau’s 13 goals are also the most amongst
rookies.
SIR CHARLES
Charlie Coyle continues to play well with the Minnesota
Wild. He scored his sixth of the season last night thanks to some slick
passing.
Coyle now has nine points in 27 games this season with
the Wild.
Honestly, Charlie Coyle is so good along the wall in all 3 zones, it's insane he's 21.

BEAULIEU
The Montreal Canadiens called up Nathan Beaulieu from the
Hamilton Bulldogs again yesterday. Beaulieu has played in two games with the Habs this
season, recording an assist. He has seven goals and 21 assists in 64 games in
the AHL.
During his last call up, Beaulieu got pranked on.
Montreal hosts the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
ATTENDANCE
How bad was Saint John’s playoff attendance? The Summerside Journal Pioneer mentioned it in an article.
Only 2,294 fans showed up last week for the Sea Dogs’ elimination game against Halifax. It does not seem right that there would be over 4,000 fewer fans at their last game at Harbour Station this year compared to last year.
Consider the fact that they won back-to-back league championships, a Memorial Cup and rewrote a lot of QMJHL records, it seems like a case of what have you done for me lately.
The numbers weren’t that surprising but still not good.
