VICTORIAVILLE, Que. – Before tonight’s
game, Sea Dogs play-by-play man Tim Roszell delivered some bad news on the team's injury front.
Samuel Dove-McFalls, a fourth-round pick
of the Philadelphia Flyers in this year’s NHL Draft, will need surgery on his
right knee and could miss up to 12 weeks, reported Roszell on the 96.1 NewSong
FM pre-game show.
Dove-McFalls missed two games earlier
this month with an injury but returned to the lineup last Saturday in Saint
John’s 6-0 loss to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Roszell said the third-year
Sea Dog reaggravated the injury this week.
Dove-McFalls has played in just five
games this season, recording one goal and two assists. In 123 career QMJHL
games the 18-year-old has 21 goals and 26 assists.
The injury is a significant loss for Saint John. Not only does Dove-McFalls provide some offense, he’s also an excellent
defensive forward and provides leadership up front.
