The team looked flat and struggled in all aspects, falling 6-2 to the Charlottetown Islanders. The Sea Dogs have just one win in seven tries against the Islanders this season - and the two meet in back-to-back contests at Eastlink Centre this Thursday and Friday.
Saint John was outplayed for most of the game, falling down 3-0 and allowing over 30 shots on goal before the midway mark of the game. The team was no doubt feeling the effects of Saturday night's game, but nothing seemed to go right for Saint John on Sunday.
Noah Laaouan scored a pair of goals for Charlottetown while singles came from Cédric Desruisseaux, Nikita Alexandrov, Gaetan Jobin and Brett Budgell. Matthew Welsh wasn't tested too much, making 28 saves in the win.
Jeffrey Durocher and Jeremie Poirier scored for Saint John. Noah Patenaude made 43 saves in the loss.
The Islanders will now carry a four-game winning streak into Thursday's game in Charlottetown.

BACKUP: Zachary Bouthillier was on the ice for warmup but was apparently not good enough to go as the backup chair sat empty on the Sea Dogs bench for much of the first period. Eventually, Frederic Plourde of the Saint John Vito's joined the team on the bench. Bouthillier was slow to get up following a collision in the crease in Saturday's game.

STREAK ENDS: Joshua Roy had his consecutive games with at least a goal streak end at six games. The mark places him in a tie with several other players for the second longest goal streak in Sea Dogs history.
SPECIAL TEAMS: It was a rough night for the Sea Dogs on special teams. The Islanders scored three power play goals on eight opportunities while the Sea Dogs went 0/8 on the power play.
BIG CROWD: The attendance of 4,138 was unofficially Saint John's largest home crowd of the season. Officially, the biggest crowd was Wednesday's makeup game, which had an announced attendance of 5,414 - but the actual attendance was significantly less than that.
NOTES: Alex Drover drew back into the Sea Dogs lineup on Sunday, so the team used 12 forwards and six defensemen... The Sea Dogs honoured Islanders goaltender Matthew Welsh before the game for recently breaking the QMJHL record for most minutes played by a netminder... also before the game, Brady Burns was named the Sea Dogs' student of the month for February... some Islanders fan buses made the trip down for the game... Jordan Spadafore took four minor penalties in this game... the Islanders scored two goals in each period.
