Lyons signs, makes pre-season debut

SAINT-QUENTIN, NB
- Kiefer Lyons made his Saint John Sea Dogs pre-season debut on Friday night.

Lyons, wearing No. 90, was a -3 in Saint John's lopsided 10-2 loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He started the game on the team's third line with Kency Pierre-Noel and Chad Bellemare.
Lyons made his debut just a few hours after the Sea Dogs announced the signing, which the team hopes will bolster its offensive punch. The 19-year-old has seven goals and three assists in 64 career QMJHL games split between the Cape Breton Eagles, Moncton Wildcats and Charlottetown Islanders.

Last season with the Islanders, Lyons posted six goals and two assists in 25 games. He recorded three goals and two assists in five games against Saint John.

Lyons also appeared in 16 Maritime Hockey League games last season with the Campbellton Tigers where he recorded 18 goals and 16 assists.

The Quispamsis native is a graduate of the Saint John Vito's. He was selected in the fifth-round of the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Eagles.

Saint John now has 15 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders in camp. That includes the injured Nico Laforge and Sam-Luca Thifault up front.
