CHICOUTIMI, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs ended a five-game road losing streak on Friday night.
Vince Elie scored 37 seconds into overtime to give the Sea Dogs a 3-2 victory over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens at the Georges Vezina Centre.
Elie also opened the scoring at 2:15 of the first period. Chicoutimi scored twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the final frame. Mathis Gauthier sent the match into overtime with a game-tying goal at 17:51 of the third.
Justin Robinson made 29 saves in the victory.
Emile Guite and Alexis Morin scored for Chicoutimi. Raphael Precourt made 27 stops in the loss.
Not only did the Sea Dogs end their road losing streak, but they did so against a team that is 9-2-1-0 on home ice this season.

NOTES: Sea Dogs defenseman Matteo Mann was out with an injury... Nico Laforge, who has been a healthy scratch at times of late, recorded his first point since Oct. 14... this was Saint John's first overtime or shootout win of the season... Peter Reynolds and Eriks Mateiko each had five shots... attendance was 2,525.
