Successful Hip Procedure For Huberdeau

Former Saint John Sea Dogs captain Jonathan Huberdeau had successful hip surgery today. From the Florida Panthers website:

Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced that F Jonathan Huberdeau underwent a successful hip procedure today in Nashville. Huberdeau is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of 2013 training camp in September.

According to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, “he played all year with that problem.”

Despite the ailment, Huberdeau still had a solid rookie campaign in the NHL and is a finalist for the Calder Trophy. The injury may explain why his production dipped near the end of the lockout shortened season.

With the Panthers missing the playoffs, this will be the longest off-season the 19-year old has had in a few seasons.
